Obagi Medical Products is a privately held company that creates, distributes, and sells skin care and restoration products. These include prescription treatments for photodamage, hyperpigmentation, wrinkles, and other skin imperfections. Its Nu-Derm System products are designed to restore damaged or unhealthy skin. Obagi also claims they help prepare skin for procedures such as laser resurfacing and chemical peels, as well as shortening recovery time. Obagi Medical Products is headquartered in Long Beach California. The original Obagi Nu-Derm System products were created in 1988 by Dr. Zein E. Obagi and other leading experts. The company has continued to grow each year, expanding the product line, sales force and corporate office. The company's international presence is now in over 40 countries.

Product Lines

The Obagi Nu-Derm System is a physician prescribed skin care system, which accelerates the "cellular turnover". As you age your skin incurs the abuse of daily living such as photodamage, stress, pollution, etc. This results in slower skin regeneration. As the old cells accumulate and stay on surface longer, the stratum corneum thickens and the area of new cells shrink, thus resulting in less healthy looking skin. Fine lines, wrinkles, freckles and age spot start to appear as the result of this process.
