Jan Marini Benzoyl Peroxide 10%

Benzoyl Peroxide 10% strength is the medication of choice for treating acne. Benzoyl peroxide is recognized by the American Academy of Dermatology to significantly reduce the presence of P acne bacteria(the bacteria believed to play a primary role in the inflammatory aspect of the acne process). Many physicians and researchers believe that benzoyl peroxide used in conjunction with glycolic acid is a potent tool to achieve dramatic clearing of acne lesions and prevent changes within the acne process. By using highly micronized benzoyl peroxide and special non-comedongenic emollients this preparation minimizes dryness and irritation while providing maximum measurable effectiveness.

Inflammatory acne

Directions:
Begin by applying once daily only preferably in the evening to affected areas not just each individual lesion. For example if the patient has acne on the forehead the medication should be applied to the entire forehead area.

Useful Tips:
During the first 1 to 2 weeks of usage it is not unusual for the patient to experience dryness flaking and increased irritation.
